Virginia Aquaculture Conference
November 18-19, 2011

The Williamsburg Hospitality House
415 Richmond Road
Williamsburg, Virginia 23185

The Virginia Aquaculture Conference is designed for both those already in the aquaculture industry, and those who are considering starting an aquaculture business. It will provide an opportunity to learn about current and upcoming issues, new developments in culture technology, and interact with others with similar interests. In addition, a trade show will accompany the program providing direct contact with aquaculture supply vendors. Both shellfish and finfish culture activities will be addressed during the two-day program, as well as topics of interest to both groups, such as marketing and financial resources.

The Conference is being organized by a multi-discipline group including:

  • The Virginia Sea Grant Marine Extension Program,
  • Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services,
  • Virginia Farm Bureau Federation,
  • Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech),
  • The College of William and Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), and
  • Virginia State University.

Members of Aquaculture industry groups, such as the Virginia Aquaculture Association, Virginia Aquaculture Advisory Board, and the Aquaculture Advisory Committee of the Virginia Farm Bureau will be assisting in the development of the educational agenda in order to ensure that timely topics are included.

Registration

Registration for the conference is $85.00 on or before October 31 and $100.00 from November 1 to November 19. Online registration will be available until November 10. After November 10, registration will be at the door. Please contact Karen Hudson (khudson@vims.edu or 804-684-7742) for at-door registration instructions.
